WEEK 33 UNA SEMANA

Would you look at that! I survived another week! 

Remember last week how I said President didn't roast me. Well, the Zone Leaders decided to take up President's slack and roast me for my American flag tie. They said they asked President and they didn't use my name specifically but, Pres said it wasn't according to the dressing standards and I know who's name came to President's mind. The name starts with Elder and ends with Egg. 

We were chilling in our car waiting for our next appointment when I noticed a lady spraying her yard with weed killer across the street. I had the prompting to get out of the car and talk to her but, I thought it would be weird for us to jump out of the car and v-line right at her. I kept looking at her and away then I was like screw it and jumped out of the car and I offered to spray her weeds and so I did and we talked about the Bible and about Jesus Christ and that kind of stuff. It was pretty cool and we might come over again and find her. It was a good experience.

We went Pokemon card hunting today. The problem was we couldn't find any. For some reason, people have been buying a bunch of cards and now we can't catch them all sadly. That was really fun.

WEEK 32 INTERCOM SHENANIGANS

 Good morning everybody! Depending on when you read this "Good Morning" could be applicable so if you don't read this in the morning shame on you! It was a pretty good week! 

In Henderson, our main work is through the members and we do a lot of member lessons trying to find people to teach. We went over to some members in our family ward called the Hanchey's and Brother Hanchey is a nerd kind of like me and the topic of the Legend of Zelda came up and we may or may not have talked about the Legend of Zelda for 45 minutes and didn't have time to share a message. Oops. And they say video games are a waste of time! 

We went to Brother Brown's house and he is the 2nd counsellor in the bishopric for the YSA ward and he went to Uruguay on his mission and he loaded us up with a bunch of Uruguay merch! It was pretty epic not going to lie.

President showed up to our District council unannounced and I had an American flag mask on and American flag tie on and I accidentally had Elder Cheney's tag on instead of mine and I thought I might get roasted but, it was not so. Phew that was a close one.

So we have an intercom system in our house you can talk through and it has been a blast to use. Elder Cheney and I started using epic beats and rapping into it for the whole house to hear. I have also used it to do playthroughs. Playthroughs are videos or streams that are people playing through video games. In my head, I pretend I'm playing a game and add commentary through the intercom. I played a game of Fortnite and got a 15 kill win! I played some Minecraft and defeated the Ender Dragon! The Elders in my apartment think I should become a twitch streamer after the mission.

WEEK 31 I'M LIVING IN A FREAKIN HOUSE

As you can tell from the title I'm living in a freakin house! I'm living in a 3 bedroom condo in Henderson. It's actually insanely big and probably the nicest in the mission. I don't know how they trust a bunch of Elders with this much power!

It's been a really good week. We have been getting to know the members and spreading the popularity of Elder Clegg! We cover 2 wards: Royal Mesa YSA and Desert Valley. They are both really cool filled with awesome members. The houses in Henderson are insane compared to North Las Vegas. Nice houses in North Las Vegas are the equivalent of people in poverty here in Henderson. 

We taught a lady named Shannon about the Book of Mormon with the Martin's who referred her to us. It was a really spiritual lesson and it was really good. The Martin's are baller members and it was really epic. Sadly she lives in a different area so we had to refer her. It was really good.

Raul got baptised! I couldn't make it because we were too busy so that's big sad. Oh well, at least he was baptised. 

I wore a pizza hut apron to district council this week and my District Leader didn't like that so he called us and told me not to wear it again because it distracts from the spirit. It was pretty funny though. Everybody in my district thinks I'm really dumb but, oh well it was worth it!

Oops! I actually hit a gutter with my Equinox and slashed my tire. I didn't see it and I was being stupid. You know what they say: you live and you learn!

WEEK 30 DAY OF RECONNING

Sadly my days in the Laurel Canyon Ward are coming to an end. I'm being transferred to a YSA ward called Royal Mesa where I will continue to work and serve the Lord. I will definitely miss the ward. I have been here for 7 months and the ward will probably miss me too. Maybe someday I'll come back on a Fast Sunday and remind them of the legacy of Elder Clegg.

On a happier note Raul is going to be baptized next Saturday! Yay! Sadly I won't be there so that sucks but, oh well.

My time in Laurel Canyon ended with a punch! Literally! We were street contacting and we walked up to some guys by a liquor store and they were arguing or something and while walking towards them one guy punches the other guy on the mouth and knocks him out while he falls and hits the back of his head and he stole his wallet. We called the cops and the guy who got knocked out but he dipped when he heard the cops were coming. Crazy stuff.
